Well, it's a big day in our household! Yep, Day #1 in underpants for my little man! I can say this - it sure is hard to get anything done (like publishing a newsletter by my normal late morning timeframe!) with this much attention on my son's every move! But, after a fairly successful day, and a little Daniel Tiger time between potty breaks, I can get this weeks publication done and to your inboxes!
My son is just shy of 2 1/2. He first become potty curious at around 18 months, but that didn't last and he was VERY against any potty talk! Since he's second birthday we've introduced the potty conversations again and just let him become comfortable using his training toilet. In the last few months we've had a lot of casual potty sessions - before nap and bedtime and before baths primarily. In the last few weeks we've had a lot more dry diapers so knew it was time to take potty training to the next level. I guess one benefit to staying at home during this quarantine is we could just let this evolve naturally and have the dedicated time to work on this sans diaper when the time seemed right - which is now!! A rainy forecast today seeming like a sign it was the perfect day to start! So, wish us luck! He's been great about waiting until he's on the potty, so the key will be him communicating when its time instead of us just scheduling very regular visits to the bathroom! I'm sure you all have both horror stories and amazing tips, so feel free to find me over on Facebook at Macaroni Kid Buffalo - Northtowns and share it all!
Wishing you all a great weekend ahead and I hope you are finding great ways to now get outside now that we've left the snowy days behind and welcomed our warmer weather!
With lots of mama love,
Carrie
